One of the biggest questions I get from clients is where the location for their family shoot should be. There is an expectation that it has to be somewhere new and exciting with a grand backdrop. This isn’t the case! If you’re wondering where to have your next family photoshoot, keep it simple. Your garden; your home; your local park or anywhere that has importance to you.

Do you remember looking through old photo albums that your parents kept? Some of my favourite images were simply in my back garden or in my old living room. When you look back at your old family photos, the surroundings in your images can hold such significance as your family grows older. You start to look back and remember how things used to be. The colour of the walls; the sofa that the kids used to jump on; the toys that had been passed on; the ornaments or just the home you used to live in.
