I had the privilege of taking some photographs for a new dental practise, Tooth Club, that had just opened in the heart of Ipswich town centre after lockdown had been eased. It’s no wonder they were keen to show off their practise as they have really made the effort to design the entrance and waiting areas to feel less clinical and relax their patients.
I think we can all agree that visiting the dentist is not the most enjoyable experience but Tooth Club almost has a spa-like feel to it and the staff are fantastic at making you feel welcome. I got to observe this as I carefully captured the receptionists using their amazing feature wall as a background.
It’s always important when going into a business as a photographer that you cause minimal disruption. I used a free surgery room to capture the headshots of the dental staff. It was a tight space but I enjoyed the challenge of creating the look required for the client. I used a simple setup with a reflector, one light and my trusted Fujifilm X-T3 camera.
And here are the results.
I had an hour before customers arrived to capture some interior shots that can be used for the website and social media. Working fast and using the time to capture the main features is key, so their customers will know what to expect when they arrive at Tooth Club.
